Serve Weekend Photographer Guidelines and Tutorial
Team photographer instructions
•Each team appoints a photographer
•Take as many photos as you want, submit no more than 5
– required photo: team group shot
– recommended photos: people at work
– optional: scenic, creative, etc.
•Name/number photos by project
–General format: pNNN_X_title
–Example for project 63: p063_1_group, p063_2_people, …
•Submit photos to WACC team
–Save in JPG file format
–Provide through CD or email
•Lawyer speak: WACC reserves editorial choice and retains all rights to submitted photos
Some pointers
•When taking a photo, ask:
–What’s the point of this photo?
–What story is this photo telling?
•Answers for serve weekend might be:
–Point: To capture and document serve weekend
–Story: People serving others to do God’s work!
•Some practical approaches:
–Capture people in action (working!), not posing
–Show people impacting the object of their work, not just the object or the tool(s) they use
–Use suggested photographic tips and tricks (more later)
